Jay Draffkorn Obituary

Jay Robert Draffkorn, 57, of Roscoe, IL peacefully passed away on April 8th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.  Jay was born on April 23rd, 1966, in Woodstock, IL., the son of Joseph and Nancy Draffkorn.

Jay was a 1984 graduate of Big Foot High School in Walworth, WI. He started his career in the automotive industry which led to opening The Used Car Factory in 2000 with his lifelong friend, Dean Tallman. Jay and Crystal married on April 4th, 2009, and together they raised their blended family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and boating, he was a true outdoorsman. He loved spending time with his family, visiting Florida and had a love for all things food. 

Jay is survived by his wife, Crystal Draffkorn, his children, Zachary (Catherine Thorne) Draffkorn and Amber (Richard) Peterson; grandchild, Brynlee; brother, Joseph (Ann) Draffkorn Jr.; sister, Ann (Mark) Bunnell and many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and numerous cherished friends. He is proceeded in death by his father, Joseph Draffkorn Sr., and grandparents. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to his family. 

A celebration for his wonderful life will be held on Friday, April 19th, 2024, from 1pm-6pm at the American Lombardi Society Club, 209 Olive Street, Rockford, IL.
