Andrew Ryan Gustafson

Andrew Ryan Gustafson, 39, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on August 2, 2019. Andrew, was born on January 7,1980 in Rockford, IL, son to Gary Gustafson and Ronda Foley. He spent most of his life in the Belvidere/Rockford area and Littleton, CO and was self employed in carpentry and home improvements. Andrew owned and operated ARG Home Improvement and Mastermind Construction until 2013 when he was the victim of gunshot violence which paralyzed the lower half of his body. Since then he had been working on the appropriate outlet for his energy and talents. He had a knack for fixing anything mechanical, cars/trucks, computers, electronics etc. What he may not have been able to do physically after his injuries, he instructed his brother or son to do for him. He definitely enjoyed being the boss, some may have referred to him as bossy. He especially enjoyed working on vehicles and loved music. Andrew had the gift of gab as his friends and family can attest to, he could talk your ear off and even his texts were mini novels. Andrew loved and was protective of his family. He was especially close to and had a loving bond with his grandmother Marilyn. He had great love for his son Bailey who was his pride and joy.
He is survived by his parents Gary (Sandy) Gustafson of Belvidere, Ronda Smith of Littleton, grandparents, Marilyn Gustafson of Belvidere, Ruth Carlson of Rockford, Phillip and Kathy Bender of Loves Park, son, Bailey Caple of Belvidere, brothers, Christopher Hillhouse of Littleton, Benjamin & Joseph Gustafson, both of Belvidere, sisters Randi Witte of Roscoe, Sierra Smith of Strasburg, CO, niece Krista Gustafson of Roscoe, numerous Uncles, Aunts and cousins. He will be missed dearly.
 He was predeceased by his grandparents, Bernard Gustafson & Joyce Bender, step-father Cory Smith, Uncles Shane, Timothy & Thomas Gustafson and Aunt Denise Gustafson.

Burial @ Highland Garden of Memories 11am October 12th 2019 (9800 IL Route 76, Belvidere)
