Beverly Ann Mitchell, nee Dremmel, 83, passed away at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL on December 12, 2019.
Born to Clarence and Marie (Strine) Dremmel on July 16,1936 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, where she graduated from high school in the class of 1954. Her first marriage brought her to northern Illinois where she raised two daughters, and worked for Admiral in Harvard, and GTE in Genoa. On December 22, 1990 Bev married Carl Mitchell at The Church by the Side of the Road in Rockton, Il.
To know Bev was to know laughter. She found unapologetic joy in the world around her. From sequins to bright colors, in her flower gardens and her arts/craft work, and in her love of animals, friends, and family--not always, but sometimes in that order. (I promise she would have nodded solemnly then laughed at that.)
She was preceded in death by her parents. Beverly is survived by her husband, Carl, her daughters Cindy (James) Osenga of Janesville, WI, and Cheryl (Robert) McDowall of Homosossa, FL, her step-daughter Dawn (Jason) Follis of Belvidere, Two sisters-in-law Wanda Barnett and LaVanda Williams of Peoria, Six grandchildren, Six great-grandchildren, and One great-great-granddaughter. Also Bev leaves many dear friends including Lil Markley and Norma Johnson, who were family of the heart.
Bev's family would like to extend special thanks to Pastor Weary, Dr. Irene Boswell, and the staff of Swedish American Heart Hospital for Beverly's care, body and soul. Donations may be made to Faith Baptist Church in Belvidere, IL.
Pain-free, she walks beside Jesus, once again leaving her own footprints in the sand.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 in the Chapel at Highland Garden of Memories Cemetery with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Jeff Weary of Faith Baptist Church will be officiating. Private interment will take place later that afternoon in the cemetery.
