John "Gomer" G. Ploch

John "Gomer" Gus Ploch passed away at St. Anthonys Medical Center on September 10, 2018 at 7:10 a.m. at the age of 56. John is predeceased by his mother Marliesse; father Walter; Grandfather Walter Sr.; Grandmother Caterina. John is survived by his loving wife Tricia Ploch of 31 years. They were married on December 1st, 1989 at the Belvidere Court House. John is remembered his two sons Johnathon Jr and Anthony and his daughter Shelby, His brother Jeff and Debbie Ploch, His sister Rosie Silverman and many nieces and nephews. John was born in Frankfurt, Germany on August 27th,1962. He attended Highland Park High School. He worked at Skinners Amusements from 1985-2010 as a ride operator. He enjoyed Camping and Fishing with his brother especially and when he wasn’t he truly enjoyed his job at Skinners Amusements. He loved all the aspects of the carnival life to the tearing down or setting up the rides, to spending time with the lifelong friends he made along the way. He also loved to spend time with his family from taking long walks at spencer park to hiking in the woods. A memorial visitation will be held at  Belvidere Church of Christ, 1771 5th Ave.on on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 4pm-7pm. A Small dinner will be provided after the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made at the time of the services.
