Barbara E. McLeod

Barbara “Barb” McLeod, 71, of Roscoe, IL, passed away on October 5, 2025.

Barb was born in Chicago, IL, to Violet and Theodore Warzecha. Sister to Michael, Kathy " Kook Koo", and Teddy.  She grew up in Wood Dale, IL, and attended Fenton High School, graduating in 1971. After high school, Barb began working at Motorola’s Schaumburg campus as a computer board service technician. She remained with Motorola for 37 years and retired in 2010. In 1985 she married John McLeod Sr. and spent 18 years together. 

Barbara was a devoted mother who always put her children first. She was the proud mother of daughters Brandi, Coren, Amber, and Devin, and son Johnny. Also Mother-In- Law to  Devins husband ,  Cormaic, who took care of Barb daily. She was lovingly known as “Grammie” to grandchildren Alex, Dakota, Savannah, Xavier, and Jameson, and as “Baca” to Ella and Wyatt.

Barb was passionate about Diamond Art and loved sharing her creations with family and friends. She was the life of any party and could light up any conversation. She was always looking to make people laugh — and succeeded daily.

She wasn’t just a mother to her own children; she had an open-door policy for her children’s friends and anyone in need. She became, in many ways, the “neighborhood mom.”

Barb will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the V.F.W. Hall, 1310 W. Lincoln Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008, with visitation from 12:00pm  to 4:00 p.m.
