Bernard T. Jacobson

Bernard “Bernie” Thomas Jacobson 80 died at Serenity House in Oregon, IL on February 11, 2025 after a short illness.

Bernie was born on July 12, 1944 to Bernard T Jacobson and Lucille Bloomquist in Superior, WI. He lived in Rockford for most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Lucille Jacobson, his brother Martin Jacobson, and other beloved relatives.

Bernie is survived by his daughter Deborah (Michael) Gantz, his grandsons Payton and Emerson Gantz,  his brother David Jacobson, his nephew Chistopher Kingrey, his niece Cassie Maynard, his uncle Dan Hestetune, several cousins and friends.

Bernie was a scale calibration technician for most of his life and he operated his own scale business almost up until his death. He enjoyed fixing things and it was believed by his daughter that he could fix just about anything. He loved motorcycles and cars. His passion was owning and restoring antique automobiles. He owned various different antique vehicles throughout his life, but his 1956 Chevy was one of his favorites. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Bernie was cremated and private services to be held.
