Bob Stedman, 74, of Rockford, IL passed away on September 27th, 2025, at UW Swedish
American Hospital.
Bob was born on June 15th, 1951, to Lillian Stedman of Rockford. Bob grew up with three
brothers in a very loving household. He married Paula (Carey/Cabrera) and spent the last 38
years in love on their mutual adventure.
As an avid fisherman he enjoyed being outdoors and spending time at their trailer at a
campground in Portage Wisconsin. Bob enjoyed woodworking and building birdhouses along
with many other things that he gave away to make people happy. He was the type of person to
give someone the shirt from his back.
Bob was easy-going and enjoyed others company. He was quick with a joke from his favorite
place of relaxation, on the porch swing of their home.
In 1985, Bob and Paula met at Park Lanes Bowling Alley. They eventually got married at
Emerald Acres and he helped raise his stepson Jonathon Cabrera through life coaching and
fatherly advice.
Bob was able to retire and enjoy the remaining years of his life with Paula. Bob also loved pets
and has always had dogs and cats.
Bob was predeceased by his wife Paula Stedman, Lillian Stedman (Mother), and Tom Stedman
(brother), Bob is survived by stepson Jonathon Cabrera (Jennifer Lomax). Brother David
Stedman (Carmen), John Stedman, Casey Palmer (Jeff), Michelle Lee, Amy Baucom, along
with many other nieces/nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
