Brent J. Nelson

Brent Jeffrey Nelson, 57 of Janesville, WI passed away peacefully Wednesday March 19, 2025, at Mercy Hospital. He was born on March 7, 1968, in Fort Atkinson, WI to Bryan and Joan Nelson previously of Janesville, WI. Brent graduated from Parkview, Orfordville, WI in 1986 and then served 8 years in the National Guard. He met his wife, Susan Walenton, with the help of his sister, Terry. Brent and Susan married on September 18, 1993, and later had two children, Catherine, Cudahy, WI and David, Janesville, WI.

Brent was a Master Plumber for 30 years. He first started working with his dad at Bryan Nelson Plumbing, Milton, WI. He later partnered with his uncle, Jeff Nelson, at J & B Nelson Plumbing, Milton, WI. In 2004, he started his own company,  Rock Valley Plumbing, Janesville, WI. Brent was an avid supporter of the Harley Davidson MDA tub runs even before knowing his son has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He rode his Harley Davidson motorcycle for years in the tub runs as well as being a Corporate Sponsor.

Brent loved riding his Harley, going camping, golfing, snowmobiling and deer hunting with family and friends, as well as helping others. He was a hardcore Chicago Bears fan. He also started welding, as he enjoyed making things and he refurbished two trailers.

Brent retired in 2022 due to health issues with his Type 2 Diabetes and Stage 5 Kidney failure, where he continued Dialysis for three years. February of 2025, he developed infections that affected his heart and lungs which led to further complications. 

Brent is survived by his wife, Susan, children, Catherine, Cudahy, WI and David, Janesville, WI his mother, Joan Nelson, Foley, AL; father-in-law, Bob Walenton, Whitewater, WI; Sisters, Tracey Fox, Terry Nelson, Foley, AL, and Toni (Jim) Meyer, Brodhead, WI; in-laws, John Walenton, Michelle (Chris) Haferman, Carrie (Scott) St. Clair, Whitewater, WI; Don (Cindy) Walenton, Smith Grove, KY and Bobby (Renee) Walenton, Rhinelander, WI. Lifelong friend, Ken Kulinski, Janesville, WI. Along with many friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Brent was preceded in death by his father, Bryan Nelson; mother-in-law, Barb Walenton; grandparents, Lyle and Catherine Harris, Marvin and Naomi Nelson; uncles, Dale, Wes and Jeff; aunt, Karen; brother-In-laws, Thomas Fox and Steve Rowley.

Celebration of Life is  May 17, 2025  American Legion 3913 WI -213, Orfordville, WI 53576 3-7pm eat between 4-6 , bar (buy your own drinks)
