Catherine Matousek Obituary

Catherine Helen Matousek, 77, of Loves Park, Illinois, passed away of natural causes on February 25,
2026. She was born in Oak Park, Illinois, to Ernest and Jean (Zdenka Mikos) Laskowski. Catherine was
the beloved sister of the late Judith Walter (Harry Walter) and Therese Sarris (Chris Sarris).
Catherine attended Willowbrook High School and graduated in 1965. She married the love of her life,
James Matousek, on March 4, 1967. She served as Director at the Winfield Park District and later as a
paralegal at Piccione, Keeley & Associates Ltd.

She was a devoted mother to Dennis Matousek (Julie Miller), Michael Matousek (Christine Peralta),
Jennifer Dutz Matousek (Matt Dutz), and Kimberly Matousek. Catherine was also a proud and loving
grandmother to Matthew Matousek, Nicholas Matousek, Sophie Dutz, Madeline Dutz, Daniel Matousek,
and Maya Matousek.

Catherine loved spending time with her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She was proud of
each of them and celebrated all of their accomplishments. Her home was filled with laughter, stories,
and special memories, and she made every grandchild feel loved and important.
She also valued her friendships deeply. She enjoyed visiting with friends, staying connected, and
offering kindness to everyone she knew. Her door was always open, and she welcomed every
conversation and shared moment. Her friendships brought her great happiness.
This nurturing spirit also extended to her love of gardening. Catherine took pleasure in tending to her
many plants and flowers in her peaceful backyard, including her favorite sunflowers.

Catherine lived a life full of love—devoted to her family, loyal to her friends, and proud of the
generations that followed her. Her kindness and warmth touched everyone around her, and her legacy
lives on in all of those who loved her.
She will be remembered for her steady presence, her generosity, and the joy she brought to others.
Always ready to help anyone in need, Catherine’s loving spirit will never be forgotten.

A private family burial will be held on June 5, 2026, with a celebration of Catherine’s life to follow on
June 6, 2026. Time and location to be provided.
