Charles Booker Obituary

Charles Fred Booker, 86, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Monday April 6th, 2020, in his home. Born, September 4th, 1933 in Bulls Gap, Tn. Son of David and Lura Bell (Davis) Booker. he was married to his wife Patricia Ann Nelson for 67 years. He was predeceased by his daughter Wendy, his parents, brothers John and David, and sisters Boots and Carolyn. Fred is survived by his wife Patricia, sister Shirley Mihm and Frances Giardono. Daughters Sherie (Calvin) Thomas and Mary (Kevin) Holmes, Grandchildren Jennifer (Nick) Thomas, Angela (Joshua) Del Rio, Andrew (Alexandra) Holmes, Joy (Phil) Holmes, and Elizabeth (Brian) Rhodes. Great-Grandchildren Julie, Angel, Calleigh, Ava, Norah, Nayeli, and Baby Holmes on the way, several nieces and nephews, and special friend Larry McCarty. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and Joyce Hocking for their continued care and support through the last few months. Per the family's wishes, no services will be held. Charlie was a machinist by trade working for Sundstrand. He started cleaning and fixing fishing reels in his garage and bought Cycloid Corp. In 1975. He had two different shops off Broadway, until he built a large garage at his home and worked from there.
