Cheri Rosenberger Obituary

Cheri Rosenberger, a beloved mother, nana, sister and friend was born on June 3, 1950, in Dekalb, Illinois, and passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025 with her family surrounding her. Cheri was the beloved daughter of Kenneth and Betty (Rowe) Linnemeier.

Cheri dedicated over 50 years to the banking industry, most recently serving as Senior Underwriter at Byron Bank. Her hard work and intelligence were matched only by her caring and selfless nature.

As a proud member of the Rockford Adventist Church, Cheri lived by the motto to "live life to the fullest," a principle she embodied in every aspect of her life.

Cheri took immense pride in her role as a mother and grandmother, often referred to as "Nana." She is survived by her two daughters, Denise (Mark) Reeser of Rockford and Lori (Michael) Carlson of Byron, along with her four grandchildren, Hayley Reeser, Nolen Reeser, Austin Carlson, and Alex Carlson, and her great grandson, Benson Smith. She is also survived by her sisters, Karen Stoll of Anamosa, Iowa, and Kathy (Drew) Schmidt of Ottumwa, Iowa.

Cheri's love for her family extended to her beloved pets, especially her cherished cat, Nash. She enjoyed spending time with her family, taking bus trips with her sister, and visiting loved ones. Her infectious energy turned even the simplest gatherings into unforgettable celebrations.

Known for her sparkly personality that perfectly mirrored her dazzling outfits, Cheri's warmth and ability to light up any room were truly remarkable. She consistently put others first, leading by example and impacting the lives of those around her. Her memory will forever sparkle in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who have had the privilege of knowing her.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Maeza and the staff at UW Carbone Cancer Center and to Serenity Hospice and Home for their care and compassion with Cheri. Memorials may be made in Cheri’s name to either of these facilities.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
