Darlene M. Higgins

Darlene M. (Stevens) Becker Higgins, 95, of Marengo, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025.  Born October 10, 1930, to her loving parents, Della and Frank Stevens.  She married Elroy H. Becker in 1947; they had 5 children: Roy, Audrey, Kay, Harvey and Steve. Darlene married Kenneth Higgins in 1983 and they loved to travel together.  Darlene loved to dance, work hard and mostly loved being around her family.  She enjoyed the love of her family and the companionship she shared with her dog, Gypsy.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Roy Becker (Jacquie), Audrey Haynie (Thomas), Kay Rath (Gary) and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, former husband, Elroy Becker, husband, Kenneth Higgins, sons, Harvey Becker and Steve Becker, grandchildren, Brandon Becker, Ember Gustafson, Daniel A. Morgan and Louis Castillo, great grandson, Justin.

Funeral service will be at noon on Saturday, October 18, 2024 in the Chapel at Highland Garden of Memories, Belvidere, with Pastor Bobby Sheets officiating.  Visitation will start at 11:00 a.m. and burial will follow the service at Highland Garden of Memories Cemetery.  To extend online condolences, please visit: www.affordablecremationbelvidere.com.
