Dawn Marie Halsted

Dawn M. Halsted, 66, passed away May 10, 2025 after a long illness.  Born in Rockford, IL on July 21, 1958.  Daughter of Vincent LoBianco (Carrie) and Diane Melan. She was a 1976 graduate of Guilford High School. Dawn was employed by Aetna Life Insurance Co for over 20 years as a supervisor in the claims department.  She married Charles Halsted on May 10, 2014.  Dawn loved her faithful dog, Patches, who would never leave her side.

Survivors include her husband, Charles, both parents, brother, Mike LoBianco (Thess), stepsister, Julie Thoren (Tony), stepbrother, Mitch Melan (Suzanne), stepsons, Eric Goodrick (Kyle) and David Jeter, grandson, David, in-laws, Fred Halsted, Angie Pobjecky, Linda (Don) Klaugs and Chris (Clark) Runyard, special niece, Brittney and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brother, Bryan, stepfather, Roger Melan and grandparents.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 920 3rd Ave, Rockford 61104 with celebration of life following at VFW Club, 922 7th St, Rockford 61104.
