Forest Dycus

Forest Dycus, 79, of Belvidere, Illinois, formerly of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025.

Forest was born on May 29, 1946, in Granite City, Illinois. He spent over thirty years working as a dedicated counter person with Truck Pro, where his friendly smile, strong work ethic, and sense of humor were appreciated by all who knew him.

He married the love of his life, Barbara McFarland-Dycus, and together they shared 30 wonderful years of marriage filled with laughter, love, and countless memories. Forest was a proud stepfather to Tracy Ahls-Nogacz and Mark Edward Ahls, and a beloved grandfather to Jacob, Alyssa, Seth, Cody, Jeremy, and Chloe.

Forest is also survived by his siblings Cheryl, Cindy, Sandra, Shelba, Shelia, and Greg, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

He will be remembered for his love of camping, sharing stories and beers around the campfire, and casting a line while enjoying the quiet peace of fishing. Forest had a gentle spirit and a warm heart that brought comfort to everyone around him.

In keeping with his wishes, services will be private.
