Frederick Roth Obituary

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, son-in-law, mentor, and friend, Frederick Michael Roth of Roscoe, Illinois passed away on October 20, 2021 after courageously battling years-long illness.

Fred was born on June 11, 1962 in Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania. While enrolled at Central Bucks East High School, Fred simultaneously completed mechanical engineering coursework through Middle Bucks Vo-Tech School. He followed his father, Harry’s example by entering the heat-treating industry at Abar (later Ipsen). During his 34 years at Ipsen he moved from hot zone design to Engineered Components Group Manager. In his role, Fred got to travel the world and enjoyed site-seeing and trying exotic cuisines. He built many life-long friendships with his co-workers and will be remembered for his strong work ethic, compassion, and mentorship.

Fred was an enthusiastic Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan and sported his Eagles Green every Football Sunday. He had a passion for cars - learning about them, working on them, and going for long drives listening to 80’s pop-rock. He loved discussing world news and events with anyone who’d engage with him. He was incredibly smart and always had an answer for any question asked.

Another love of his was his family. Fred was the glue that held his family together, the one who stayed cool, calm, and collected in crisis. He always gave great advice and never judged anyone who didn’t follow said advice. He was always understanding and supportive. He also loved his dog, Bentley dearly.

Fred married Susan (Russell) Roth on November 7, 1982. Left to cherish his memory are his wife; daughters Laura Roth (Josh Studier) and Alexa Roth; grandson, Michael George; mother, Elizabeth (Porter) Roth; brother, William (Eileen) Roth; sister, Kimberly (Al) Reinhardt, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by his father, Harry F. Roth and daughter, Kristen Roth.

Fred will be laid to rest next to his daughter, Kristen, at King David Memorial Park in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. A celebration of life will be held in Rockford, Illinois at a later date.

Fred’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Harlem-Roscoe EMS team for their compassionate care over the past several years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Protection District (www.harlemroscoefire.com) or the American Diabetes Association (https://diabetes.org/donate).
