Gary Awalt Obituary

Gary Awalt passed away on January 3, 2021 after fighting COVID-19. He graduated high school from St. Charles High School. After high school he went to the air force and was a sergeant fuel specialist and served during the Vietnam War until 1972 when he was honorably discharged. He was passionate about the men that served during the Vietnam War, loved teaching archery and hunting sports to his family and friends while donating time to Auroraland Archers.

Gary loved his family and is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Reta Awalt. He is survived by his three children Scott (Ginger) Awalt of Ashton, Stacy (Kurt) Barrett of Milwaukee, and Sheryl Franzen (Doug Fitzgerald) of Somonauk, his grandchildren Jacob Terry, Jonah Awalt, Angel Awalt, Andrew Barrett, Joseph Barrett, Kaitlan Barrett, Mary Franzen, Lizzy Franzen, and Michael Fitzgerald.
