Georgianna "Gee Gee" Boyd Obituary

Georgianna Sue Boyd passed away suddenly on February 20th after a long battle with heart failure. Gee Gee was born at Booth Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois on August 25th, 1952, Gee Gee grew up in Rockford, Illinois and Graduated from East High School in 1970. Gee Gee made lifelong friends at all her places of work including Arlan’s, Montgomery Wards, and JCPenney, where she retired. Gee Gee was a volunteer every week for “Rock House Kids”, an organization in Rockford that taught Christian values and bible study to underprivileged children. Gee Gee was also a longtime member of a Stampin Up card making club and got together every week with her dear friends to make cards and craft together. Gee Gee loved to shop, read and cook and had the largest book collection of anyone I know. She loved Folk and Country music and loved seeing her favorite, Michael Johnson, perform at Charlotte’s Web. She was loyal, kind, patient, and reliable, always willing to help anyone in need. Gee Gee was a daughter, sister, Aunt, and friend. Gee Gee was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by her remaining sisters, Rosemary Grahn and Charlene Dickson, as well as by her nephew, Ben Grahn, and niece, Sarah Cortese.
