Glenn Parks Obituary

In loving memory of Glenn L. Parks

After a long battle with dementia, he peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, January 22, 2023.  He was a loving husband, brother, father, step-father, grandfather, step-grandfather, great-grandfather, step-great-grandfather and uncle.

Glenn was born on May 3, 1934, in Portsmouth, Ohio.  He was the youngest son of Harold and Maurita Parks. 

Glenn served in the Air Force as a Supply Sergeant, in Germany, during the Korean War.  After he was honorably discharged from the Air Force, he worked as a Machinist.  He enjoyed wood working and going to craft shows to sell his wood work.  He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and bowling.  He was a member of the Eagles Club 392, LLL Society and the VFW Club 9759.  He attended Bible Baptist Church in Belvidere, IL.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Shirley Perkins-Fuller-Parks; brother, Jim (Erma) Parks of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Anna Jackley of Rock Falls, IL; sister-in-law, June Parks of Rock Falls, IL; daughter, Maurita (Roland) Thompson; son, Daniel Parks; step-children, Darrell (Linda) Johnson, Tamra (Glenn) Craig, Lisa Gustin, Pete (Lori) Fuller, Lori Fuller-Freeman; grandchildren, Amy (Tom) Bunting, Amber (Keith) Romanek, James Moyer, Brantley Thompson, Jennifer (Garrett) Simons, Levi Parks, Candace Cassioppi; step-grandchildren, Thomas Bunting, Selena Bunting, Lee (Rebecca) Gillette, Bradley Holiman, BreAnna Holiman, Bryen Gustin, Tyler Freeman, Jenna Fuller, Michael Moyer, Jonathan White, Sabrina (Robert) Weimerskirk; several great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lee Parks; brother-in-law, Keith Jackley; daughter, Janice Parks; great-grandson, Lucas Cassioppi.

A very special Thank You to Lori Fuller-Freeman for all the love and care she gave to Glenn during his battle with dementia. 

A celebration of Glenn’s life will be announced at a later date.
