Harold W. Shoup Jr.

Harold W. “Wes” Shoup, age 56, of Rochelle, Illinois passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024 at home with his fiancé by his side. To honor Wes’ life, there will be a “last ride” celebration of life for Wes in East Dubuque, Ill. on August 3, 2024.

Wes was born on July 5, 1967 in Peoria, Illinois, son of Harold Westley Shoup, Sr. and Jackie Lee (Thomas) Shoup, currently Jackie L. Carter. Wes obtained his high school diploma in 1992 from Wahiawa Commission School For Adults. He met the love of his life, Char Eubanks March 18, 2017.

Wes had a passion taking adventures and exploring the country while riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his fiancé and close friends. He loved collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia. When not out riding, Wes enjoyed playing fishing games on his VR gaming device. He also loved spending time catching up with his friends who he considered his brothers, Thom Royster and Matt Mason. Wes also, took great pride in being a “pop pop” to his fiancés grandchildren. They brought him great joy.

Wes will fondly be remembered by those who knew him by showing up to Christmas ready to share an upside down pineapple cake that he loved to make. He will also be remembered by the way he expressed his love for his fiancé, Char. She was always his priority and his rock.

Those left to cherish Wes’ memory include his mother Jackie Carter, fiancé Char Eubanks, and several other family members.

Wes was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Char would like to thank OSF Hospice for all you have done for Wes and her. Shelly Bay has been wonderful in all of the support she has provided.
