Harriet L. Day

Harriet Lucille Day, born November 23, 1939 in Janesville, WI passed into heaven June 21, 2021 in Belvidere IL at the age of 81.   Recently diagnosed with cancer, Harriet chose to spend her last days in the comfort of her home under Hospice care and with her family.  Harriet was an industrial engineer and loved every facet of bowling.  Over the years she bowled in many local, regional and national tournaments and was involved in Northern Illinois adult and youth bowling as a participant and in a leadership role.  She was inducted into the McHenry County Bowling Hall of Fame in 2004 and was the association manager for the McHenry County Bowling Association for many years.  When Harriet was a young girl she worked in a flower shop and throughout her years loved to arrange flowers.  She also knitted and crocheted bonnets and more recently would donate her bonnets to local hospitals for newborn babies.   She leaves behind 4 children, Deborah  Feirn, Vicki (Dan)Draper,  Scott Feirn,  James (Jed) (Kimi) Day (stepson), 4 Grandchildren Amie Coleman,  Sara Coleman,  Christopher Feirn, Brandon Day and 4 Great Grandchildren, Jesse Williams, Christopher Feirn Jr., Cole Musgrave,  Lucy Mae Musgrave, 4 siblings Katie Henze, Donna Pregont, Carol Williams, Warren Burgett.   Harriet was preceded in death by her husband James (Larry) Day and her parents.  Harriet will be deeply missed by her family and friends.  

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Highland Garden of Memories.
