James R. Pearson, 66, passed away on September 6th, 2024 in Rockford, IL. Born on March 31, 1958, James affectionately known as “Spot” or “Jimmy” by those close to him. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and cherished by many.
Jim attended Guilford High School and Rock Valley College. Working as a custodian for Rockford Public Schools and later a valued team member at Kelly Williamson. Jim was a devoted fan of the Chicago Sports Teams. Jim loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and downhill skiing. An artist at heart, Jim spent time drawing and painting, capturing the beauty of the wildlife/outdoors as he saw it. Music was a significant part of his life and he never missed an opportunity to attend concerts.
Jim’s love for travel often took him to Montana to visit family, which remained one of his favorite destinations. These trips were not just about the journey or the destination but about the joy of being with family and creating lasting memories.
He is survived by his brothers, Ron (Cindy) Pearson, nephews Chris Pearson, Justice Farland and his daughter Willow Farland; George Pearson, nephew Zack (Meahgan) Pearson and their son Jordan Pearson, niece Bianca (Tony) Louras; Gary Pearson, nephew Eric (Stephanie) Pearson and their children Stella and Emmett Pearson, niece Lisa (Benjamin) Fenwick and their children Oliver and Case Fenwick. Jim is preceded in death by his parents Ann and Irving Pearson, sister-in-law Cheryl Ann, and niece Jessica Ann.
Jim was a fun-loving spirit ready for a trip, good time, an adventure, and a great person to be with. May he make it to Heaven ten minutes before the devil knows he is gone.
A private service will be held for immediate family only. A celebration of life will be on October 26, 2028 at 2:00 p.m., at the Firehouse Pub and Grill, 10670 Main St., Roscoe, IL for all.
