Janet L. Barone

Janet L. Barone, of Rochelle, Illinois passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021.  Born April 12,1922 in Minneapolis Minnesota, the daughter of Harold W. and Cecelia (Madson) Hanson.  Janet was an optimist, believed the best about everyone and approached life with enthusiasm. She loved to travel, play bridge, water aerobics at DeKalb YMCA and at 98 could play a mean game of Scrabble.  Spirituality was an important part of her life being a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sycamore, for 74 years and an associate of the School Sisters of St. Francis.  She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Angelo P. Barone, who died September 25, 1987.
 
Survived by her children, Toni Barone Liston, Michael (Beth) Barone, Diane (Richard) Barone Florschuetz, Thomas (Lorraine) Barone and Joseph Barone; and grandchildren, Tia Liston, Tori (Bill) Liston Slemer, Shelley Barone, Blue (Ruth) Neustifter, Stephen (Jen) Barone, Angela Florschuetz, Eric Florschuetz, Teresa Barone, Becky Barone and Anthony Barone and 7 greatgrandchildren.

Memorial Mass 11:00 am on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 244 Waterman Street, Sycamore. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tails Humane Society, 2250 Barber Greene Rd., Dekalb, IL 60115
