Jean Edwards

Jean Edwards of Belvidere went home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2023, she passed peacefully in her sleep. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Jean was born October 17, 1946 in Kentucky; the daughter of Floyd and Esther Shoemaker. In 1983, she moved to Illinois, where she worked for Doc's Upholstery in Belvidere. She loved her birds, her plants and all things nature. She especially, loved her family, adored her grandchildren and took pride in all whom she loved. Jean was a woman of great taste and style, always making sure she looked her best. She was a warm and loving woman in many people's lives and will be missed deeply. Jean is survived by her 3 children; Bill Lawson, Susan Glei Daycak and Stephen Robert Vandersteldt Sr; her grandchildren, Salem Vandersteldt, Stephen Robert Vandersteldt Jr, Stephen Robert Vandersteldt II, Sierra Vandersteldt, Elizabeth Crandall, Bill Lawson Jr, Toni Kolatski, Samuel Lawson, Gracie Lawson and 8 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her granddaughter, Serenity Vandersteldt.  A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm on August 19th at Belvidere First Assembly of God with Pastor David Smith officiating.
