John J. Fyda

John Fyda, age 73, of Belvidere, IL, died on Monday, August 26, 2024 at the Symphony Northwoods Nursing Home.  John was born on October 28, 1950 in Chicago, IL.  He graduated from Weber High School and De Paul University.  He married Linda Wojcik on January 19, 1974 at historic Catholic church, St. Mary of the Angels in the Bucktown neighborhood.  He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed watching the games with his family.

John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda, and their son, Matthew (Kate) of Austin, TX and four grandsons.  He was especially fond of their cats, Lucy and Oliver.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, (Matt and Lillian) and his sister (Susan).

His wife would like to thank the many nurses and aides at the Symphony Northwoods home where John spent his last days.

His memorial mass will be September 3, 2024 at St. James Church in Belvidere, IL at 10am.
