John A. Nepean Jr. died peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with cancer on October 3, 2021 at the age of 60. John was born in DeKalb on May 17, 1961 to John Nepean and Darlene(Olsen)Plumley. He was artistically skilled and enjoyed drawing animals and architecture. John was an entrepreneur, spending most of his life doing seal coating. John was a simple man, he made a friend of anyone and was content with a cup of coffee and a good conversation.
John is survived by both of his parents, his four children, Kalen Nepean, Candice Nepean, Richard Nepean, and Ashley Nepean. His 2 grandchildren Jaxon Nepean and Lincoln Goldsmith. His two sisters, Dawn (Dan) Curtis and Sherry Thompson. John also has nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is also survived by his good friend Edie, who he was very fond of. John is preceded in death by his grandmother Mildred Olsen, nephew Caleb Thompson, and many aunts and uncles.
John will be remembered for his kindness. His ability to make any situation, no matter the circumstances, a memorable one. His love and pride of his children and his sisters. Lastly, his love for his hair – as he had a beautiful full head throughout his life. He will be dearly missed, more than he ever thought possible.
There will be a private ceremony for his children and a celebration of life to be held in the spring.
