Karen K. Holmes

Karen K. Holmes passed away peacefully on March 23 after a short illness. Born July 25, 1941 in Shawano, WI to Lucille (Schwenkner) and Sam Rudehs. Karen married Raymond Holmes on February 13, 1960 and they were married 46 years until his death in 2006.
She is survived by her daughter LeAnne (Matt) Bunger of Gravois Mills, MO, son Kevin (Mary) Holmes of Machesney Park , granddaughter Joy (Phillip) Feltz of Machesney Park, IL, grandson Andrew (Alexandra) Holmes of Rockford, IL, sister in law Beverly (Wayne) Gettes of Waterloo, WI and best friend Betty Hodniyak of Machesney Park, IL. Karen was lovingly known as "Maka Nani" to her great grandchildren Calleigh Feltz, Angel Belmontes, Nayeli and Sophia Holmes and soon to be Navi Feltz. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, "honorary" grandchildren, friends and her faithful companion Chester, her beloved little poodle.
Thank you to the staff of Generations at Neighbors in Byron, IL and Davita Churchview in Rockford, IL for their constant and loving care in Karen's final months.
Karen's wish was to be remembered with a Celebration of Life, full of laughter and memories, which will be held later this summer.
