Kathleen Marie Foster, 79, passed away peacefully at home in Sycamore, Illinois, on March 15, 2025, surrounded by loving family and cherished pets, Max and Lacey. Born on July 19, 1945, in DeKalb, Illinois, to Stoddard and Charlotte Allen, Kathy’s life was filled with love and dedication. She married the love of her life David Foster on June 24, 1972, their love story continued until his passing in 1996.
Kathy was a proud mother to three sons: Matthew (Jamie) Foster of Wenatchee, WA, Jason (Rhiannon) Foster, and Michael (Jessica) Foster, both of Sycamore, IL. Kathy was blessed with seven grandchildren: Kyleigh Blanchard, Evan, Kylee, Liam, Henry, Nolan, and Brynn Foster, and found great joy in sharing their accomplishments with family and friends. She is survived by her siblings, Stoddard (Ginger) Allen, Linda Campbell, and Carolyn Montavon-Uili, and was preceded in death by her husband, parents, in-laws Ray and Margaret Foster, and brothers-in-law Jerome Montavon, Robert Campbell, and Meia Uili.
After dedicating much of her career to Ideal Industries in Sycamore, Kathy embraced retirement, sharing her homemade goodies with family, friends, and the community. A passionate horse lover, she resumed riding during her retirement and often reminisced about her childhood adventures.
Her sense of humor and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to a local animal shelter in her honor. In accordance with her wishes, a private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
