It is with great sadness that the family of Kathryn Ann Horrisberger, aged 66, announces her peaceful passing on November 7, 2024, after a long fought battle with heart disease and kidney failure. She was born in Parris Island, S.C. as a proud "Naval Brat" to loving parents Rita Joann Barclay (deceased) and Edward J Brown Sr.(deceased). Also raised by step-parents Marilyn M. Blackwell (deceased) and George A. Blackwell (deceased). She was a resident of Rockford, Illinois, since 2012, and previously from Sacramento for 27 years and her early years of life in Florida and Saratoga Springs, N.Y. , during which period she raised her daughter Trisha Horrisberger / Crystal, Brittany, Coady and Victoria and son George "Ben" Clark( Lisa) / Cheyenne and Brayden. She attended Saratoga Springs HS and, while studying to become an RN later worked at Sacramento General hospital as a CNA. Kathy lead a life filled with many twists, turns, and adventures, all of which always lead back to the most important thing in her life, family. To Kathy family meant everything. Although many miles may have separated and time may have slipped past, her first priority was her family and tirelessly worked toward uniting and reuniting elements of her closest family, as well as, the enormous extended family she cultivated over her lifetime. She was a fan of dragons and serpents and had a deep love of everything gnome. Her collection was endless and boundless. The dragons represented all the hurdles she slayed, and the gnomes represented her uniqueness in the world. During the endless days of doctors visits and hospital stays, she colored her hair with purple and receptionists, nurses, doctors and even valets at the hospital knew and fondly refered to her as "the purple haired lady", to which she replied "that's me" Kathy did not follow the crowd, she created crowds and was loved and adored by many. Kathy was a huge fan of music, classic rock, country and southern rock were her passion, recently attending Lynyrd Skynyrd concert "back stage" compliments of stage manager and long time extended family member Danny Knight who refered to her as "mom". Kathy is preceded in death by her brother Paul Brown. Kathy is survived by her ex-husband Timothy "Ugly" Horrisberger of Sacramento, Ca., her brother Edward J Brown Jr.(Sarah Berman) of Rockford, Il., her sister Loretta Anne Cullinan(Andy) of Towson, MD., her loyal dogs Mattie and Felony, as well as, many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
