Obituary

Laura Madey, wife and partner of Bill Madey for 45 years, was born on November 24, 1958 in Chicago and entered into rest on January 9, 2022 in Rockford, IL. Laura was the owner of Madey Cleaning Solutions for over 30 years.  She was a beloved, selfless, unstoppable force, cherished by everyone whose life she touched.  She lived to take care of others and especially loved to cook for them.  She will be fondly remembered for her dancing and her humor.   

She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Doris (Bianchi) Butz.  She is survived by her husband  Bill; her children Sarah Zubrick (Matt), Stephanie Price (Mike), Elizabeth Madey (Andy), Emily Madey (Sergio) and Jake Madey; her grandchildren Ava and Gwen Salach, Josie, Blake and Austin Price, and Riley, Nicklas, Gavin and Brennen Zubrick; and her siblings Karol Hoggatt-Maier, Georgi Butz-Arquilla, Ken Butz and Terri Flaim.

A celebration of Laura’s life will be held at a later date.  Please check this website for updates.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
