Born on March 9, 1949, in Belvidere, spent her early years in Garden Prairie until moving to Poplar Grove then to Belvidere, where she spent the remaining years.

A graduate of Belvidere High School, Linda's resilience was tested and proven when she survived the 1967 Belvidere Tornado, an event that marked her as a pillar of strength in her community. Her battle with cancer also showcased her spirit, as she fought the disease for five years never giving up. She continued the fight until her passing day, when the Lord called her home to be with Him and her loved ones that preceded her in death.

Linda rejoins her beloved daughter, Rhonda Harling-Rollette; brothers, Edwin "Butch" and Robert Schmidt; sister-in-law Cindy Schmidt; as well as her parents, Mary "Weeze'' and Edwin Schmidt.

In her personal life, Linda was known for her love of decorating her house and her extensive collections, which included Barbies, Beatles and Elvis memorabilia, and purses, the more sparkles the better. Her home was a treasure trove of memories and a reflection of the joy she found in life's simple pleasures. She cherished spending time with her family and was famously precise about having things hung with the utmost accuracy, often humorously assuring that tasks would "only take 5 minutes."

Linda's legacy continues through her beloved husband, Thomas Dixon; her children, Michael Harling (Carie), Mark Harling, Matthew Harling (Susan), and Step-Children Lisa Crocker (Bob); and Michael Dixon (Michelle), siblings Mary "Mimi" (Robert) Long and Gary Schmidt.
She was a cherished grandmother to Taylor Haile (Corey); Hunter, Logan, and Liam Harling, Clayton, Dakota, Hunter, and Jackson Morrison; Ashlyn Stumpf (Taylor), Tyler Crawford (Amanda), Alyssa Crawford, Gracelyn Harling; Will Crocker, Addie Sanchez (Eli), Tommy Crocker, and Graydon Crocker; Alex Larrabee (Katie), and Chelsey Dixon.
Her great-grandchildren include Trinity Panetti and Presley Haile; Brinley and Amelia Stumpf, Jackson Crawford; Lyla Larrabee. Linda also leaves behind her sisters-in-law Victoria Schmidt and Kathy Schmidt; nephews Gerry Schmidt (Casi) and Bruno Schmidt (Maria) and nieces Maria Delao (Alfredo) and Carolina Bone (Robert), along with many other loving family members and friends.
