Lynn Johnson Obituary

Lynn Michele Johnson passed away on May 15, 2022, at the age of 53. Lynn was known to her family and friends as Shelly, but her late husband called her Olga because they loved to tease each other. Shelly was an animal lover and took great joy in watching her rescued cats play. As a child, she often brought home injured animals she found while playing. Shelly was a funny, fun loving woman with the most beautiful blue eyes. She cared deeply about her family and was supportive of everyone. She loved to make people laugh with her great sense of humor. Shelly teased her dad incessantly, which he loved. She was a wonderful companion to her mom, as they drove around together, doing various errands. Shelly will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Lynn is survived by her father, John Stines; her Mother, Connie Stines; her sister, Monica Pickard; her son, Justin Stines (Angelina Reyes), her daughters, Kerby Shelton and Katie Berens (Nick Van Husen); her grandchildren, Kaden, Myla, Owen, and Melody; her nephew Joshua; her Aunt Debra Colvin, and her Uncles Win Kerby (Jan), Tommy Shelton (Kathie) and Jim Thurston; numerous cousins, her closest friend, Harry Hemphill, along with many life-long friends.

Lynn reunites with these dear family members who preceded her in death: her beloved husband, Dean Johnson, whom she teasingly called Frank; her son Milo Gibson, Jr.; her grandparents, W. R. Kerby (Maxine), Violet Adams (Matt), Retha Shelton, and Joe Bob Stines; her Aunts, Sharon Reser (Art), Retha Marie Lorenson (Jerry), and Eva Jo Johnson (Bill); and her brother-in-law, Raymond Pickard.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, please give a donation to the causes Shelly supported: The American Heart association, in honor of her husband Dean; the Red Cross, which helped her family after an apartment fire destroyed their possessions; or the Winnebago County Animal Shelter, where she and Dean adopted their cats.

A memorial service will take place, by invitation only, for Shelly and Milo, Jr. When plans are set, invitations will be extended. Please respect the family’s wishes.
