Mark Sanders Obituary

Mark Brian Sanders, 67, passed away in his home Sunday, October 27th, 2024. He was born April 13th, 1957 in Elmhurst, IL to John & Joan (Sveinsson) Sanders.

Mark was an avid audiophile for his entire life and absolutely loved listening to music. Some of his favorite groups were David Bowie, Supertramp, Rickie Lee Jones, and CSNY, amongst many others. Mark took out a loan for a stereo before he even had his first job, reflecting his deep appreciation for sound. In addition to his penchant for music, he also loved to play guitar and played in a guitar mass with his brother Bill for years as a child, maintaining a small collection of guitars until a hand injury left him unable to play anymore. Mark had a close relationship with his nephew Riley; they spent a lot of time together watching James Bond films and listening to music while enjoying Heinekens and Marlboros.

Mark was the Co-founder of MSII Graphics Inc. and had a love and deep understanding of printing and printing presses. Mark was also an aviation enthusiast, taking many pilot lessons throughout his life in pursuit of his pilot's license. He was a passionate RC plane and helicopter operator and took pride in his ability to fly his helicopters only inches away from his head.

Mark loved cars and just about anything with a combustion engine in it. He had many cars he loved, but perhaps none was as infamous as his British racing green Corvette. He enjoyed riding his Honda CBX around at high speeds. He was an incredible mechanic and could fix anything on his cars. Mark spent a lot of time with his brother Bill before he passed in 2019, and they enjoyed watching F1 and Nascar races every week.

Survived by siblings Pam Ianni & Amy (Alex) Syzmanski. Many nieces and nephews and Brother-in-law Ronald Rudolph.  Predeceased by parents John (1988) and Joan (2017), siblings Peggy (1979), Dick (2015), William “Bill” (2019), Patrick (2023), and Paula “Polly” (2023).

Any donations that anyone would like to make on Mark’s behalf should be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org).
