Mick Tillman Obituary

Mick Joseph Tillman went to heaven on April 19 at the age of 51. He was born on October 25, 1970 to Richard and Judith (Killian) in Phoenix, Arizona, the youngest of five siblings.
Early on, Mick explored his woodworking, drawing, and culinary talents. Shortly after marrying Carrie (Taglia) in 1995, he began his career in the high-end music industry. By mid 2004, Mick had moved to Illinois and began his very successful career with Dynaudio North America as the National Sales Director.
Mick was a generous man who volunteered often. He coached several youth soccer teams over a dozen seasons. With his wife, Mick also led a Girl Scout troop for seven years, he was a team leader in the Walker and Crawler room at Heartland Church every weekend for almost a dozen years, and he spent four years as the High School leader for the Joni and Friends retreat for families with special needs. Mick also was a foster father for four children through the Lydia Home Safe Families program. His love for children was evident as he sponsored a girl in Guatemala and a boy in Zimbabwe, twice tried to adopt a baby, and opened his home for up to eleven additional people at one time. Besides Mick's dedication to serving children, he rescued two dogs and had 9 cats through out his adult years.
As an avid music lover, Mick often traveled out of state to attend concerts. He was an excellent handiman and a whiskey aficionado. Mick enjoyed camping with his family and participated in various off road sports. For both work and pleasure, Mick had traveled throughout North America, Hawaii, Mexico, Aruba, Jamaica, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.
Mick is survived by his wife Carrie, his son Joseph (19), his daughter Grace (9), his daughter Sarah (Solis)(22), and his granddaughter Amelia (Solis)(20 months).
Honoring his wishes, Mick has been cremated and his ashes will be the nutrition to grow and sustain an Oak tree. The tree will grow in a large pot until a final planting space has been determined. Mick's life will never be forgotten and will continue to bless us as we remember what an amazing and generous man he was.
