Norman A. Peterson

Norman A Peterson, 68, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away from a long illness on Thursday,
December 4, 2025 peacefully in his home. Born September 22, 1957 in Rockford, the son of
Everett L Peterson and Ruth A (Rogge) Peterson. He attended Jefferson High School and had
many friends and family in the area. Norman enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing horseshoes,
watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers, and gathering with family and friends. He
was also a member of the Eagles Club in Rockford. Norman was hard working and retired from
Sherwin Williams as a lab technician. He was a very loving father, partner, brother, uncle,
cousin, and friend to his loved ones.
Survived by his soulmate, Debra Nisius, Daughter Stephanie (Rich Roehrig) Peterson, Sisters
Carolyn (Ekkehard) Luck and Bonnie Sweeney, Brother Richard Peterson, Debra’s son Kyle
(Randi) Nisius, nephew Heath (Kim) Peterson, niece Marcy (Bob) Bailey, and several cousins.
Predeceased by his parents, Everett and Ruth Peterson, brother Steven Peterson, sister Jean
Peterson, sister-in-law Betty Peterson, brother-in-law Don Sweeney, niece Christina Nelson,
Debra’s daughter Jessica and sister Kelly.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Norman’s honor on Sunday, January 11th, 2026 at the
Rockford Eagles Club from 1pm to 5pm. Pastor Hillary Van Utt will be officiating a short
ceremony shortly after 1pm.
