Ormand Stanley Oelsen was born on February 26, 1952, in Arkansas, and raised in the vibrant City of Chicago, to the late Ormand and Helen Oelsen. He passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024, after a courageous 12-year battle with cancer. He was 72 years old.
Stan was a devoted family man and is remembered as a loving father to Sarah, Zack, Ryan (Natalie), the late Brianna, and Mark; cherished Grandfather to Dakota, June, Verena and Michael; dear brother to Debbie (Wayne), Jean, Wesley (Janet), and the late Jerry (Sharron); beloved uncle to many.
Stan’s dedication to his work was unparalleled; he never missed a day and had an incredible ability to fix anything that didn't have two legs. His passion for music, dancing, movies and classic cars was infectious, and he shared these loves with everyone around him.
A man of strong faith, Stan was a devoted follower of Jesus. Though he was not wealthy in material possessions, his generosity knew no bounds—he was always ready to give the shirt off his back to those in need.
Stan’s legacy of love, strength, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
To celebrate Stan’s remarkable life, In lieu of traditional mourning, a “Celebration of Life” will be held on August 17, 2024. Please contact family members for details.
