Paul Blair Obituary

Paul Blair passed away at home, peacefully with family by his side following a lengthy battle with Dementia. Paul was born in Neoga, Il to Burnis & Fern (Redden) Blair. He attended Paris High School where he met the love of his life Margaret (Peggy) Horn and they married June 14, 1961 in Belvidere, IL. He was a devoted & caring husband for 55 years.

Paul worked at Henry’s Discount Store and Union Hall where he was manager until they closed. He also worked at Western Auto, Rockford school district, HCI Inc. and Walmart before retiring. With his new freedom he was able to spend more time on his hobbies like camping, fishing and traveling with his wife. He also developed a passion for feeding and watching wildlife out his front windows. After the loss of his wife, he adopted a dog named London, they formed a deep and unwavering connection.

Paul was always known and loved for his jovial and humorous outlook on life. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, always creating lasting memories. Paul was well known as “a Jack of all trades” and he took great pride in sharing that knowledge and experience with others.

Paul was a loving and supportive father to his three daughters. He was a very entertaining grandpa/great grandpa who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the kids. He was always available to offer encouraging words whenever needed.

Paul is survived by daughters: Tammy (Scott) Kos, Cathy Wargo of Belvidere IL, and Bonita “Bunny” (Adam) Berry of Midwest City, OK; Grandkids: Jeremy (Tiffany) Wargo of Caledonia, IL, Jessica (James) Penge, Cassandra (Billy) Morales of Yukon, OK, Joshua Bentley of Midwest City, OK, Eric Kos, Kirsten (Daniel) Spray of Yukon, OK and great-grandkids: Hunter, Jayde, Conner, and Parker Wargo, Abagail, Jonathan, and Kayleigh Morales, Alexander, Nicholas, Jaiden and Violet Spray, Wade, Kayla and Hailey Penge. Preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Peggy) Blair, son-in-law Daniel Wargo.

After retirement, they discovered they thoroughly enjoyed going on cruises. They had many fond memories on those adventures. Knowing the joys those vacations brought, we decided to have their final resting place to be out at sea.

We are having a Celebration of Life on 4-13-2025 at his daughters (Cathy Wargo Belvidere IL) 1pm-4pm. You can contact via email: cathywargo8@gmail.com for more information.
