Penye Davis (née Glaspey), age 86, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, in Rockford, Illinois. Born on September 15, 1938, in Mason City, Iowa, Penye lived a full and vibrant life marked by her spirited personality and deep devotion to her faith.
A devoted Christian throughout her life, Penye’s faith was a guiding light that shaped her values and brought comfort to those around her. Known for being spunky and outspoken, she brought energy and laughter into every room she entered. Her presence was unmistakable—she spoke her mind with conviction and loved with equal intensity.
Penye shared many years of marriage with her husband, Donald Davis Sr., building a life rooted in love and resilience. Together they raised their children and created a home filled with character. She is lovingly remembered by her son Donald Davis Jr., as well as by her grandchildren Angela Faulkner and Thomas Faulkner. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Scott Faulkner, Winter Mahana, and Jade Auve.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Vickie Faulkner; son-in-law Bobby Faulkner; and son Jeffrey Davis. Their memories remained close to Penye’s heart throughout her life.
Penye found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for church and spent countless hours crocheting intricate patterns that became cherished keepsakes for family and friends. In recent years, she discovered a love for diamond art and painting, expressing herself creatively through color and texture.
Her family will remember not only the things she made but also the way she made them feel—seen, heard, and loved without reservation.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and continue to inspire strength and authenticity in all who carry it forward.
