Sally Jane Rich, age 78, of Elgin, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Born on February 11, 1947, in Elgin, she was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother whose kindness and faith touched all who knew her.
Sally graduated from Elgin High School in 1965 and went on to study at the University of Illinois.
After college, she moved to Troy, Ohio, where she raised her three sons on her father's farm and
shared a love of motorcycles and outdoor adventures with them.
Later, she made her home in Lenoir City, Tennessee, where she cherished her time near Knoxville
and especially enjoyed visiting Dollywood. In recent years, Sally returned to Elgin to live with her
eldest son, Billy.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, William D. Rich (2005) and Georgian "Dolly" Rich
(2001), and her brother Larry Rich. She is survived by her brother Thomas Rich; her sons William
"Billy" Busche, Jeffrey Busche (Nicole), and Michael Busche (Angela); her grandchildren William
Busche Jr., Barrett Busche, Wyatt Busche, Malerie Busche, and Camryn Busche; and her
great-grandson Maverick James McCarthy (son of Malerie Busche).
Sally was a kind and thoughtful soul, grounded in her love for God and her family. Her gentle spirit
and unwavering devotion will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Sunday, May 18th, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
at Hooper's in Elgin. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend.
