Sandra (Sam) Hurst

Sandra (Sam) Hurst, 67, passed away surrounded by her family at
home. Sam was born on January 16, 1955, in West Helena, Arkansas.
Sam enjoyed watching her birds and dancing. She never lost her sense
of humor to the very end and always had a witty comeback. She loved
her job at the gas station where she got to visit with her regulars,
especially Billy.
Sam is survived by her husband, William Hurst of Creston, IL; their six
children: Matthew (Katie) Vaupel of Amboy, IL, Michael Hurst of Davis
Junction, IL, Melissa (Clint) Capes of Rochelle, IL, Mandy (James)
Mason of Rochelle, IL, Megan Vaupel of Rochelle, IL, and Matthew
Hurst of Rochelle, IL as well as her 15 grandchildren; one brother; Larry
(Vicki) Wyrick of Allen, TX: and two sisters, Barb (Lynn) Hicks and Jennifer (Corey) Dean both of
Quincy, IL. As well as extended family and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Annie Wyrick, her brother-in-law Rick Hurst,
sister-in-law Judy Finley, mother-in-law Maggie Hurst and cousin Cheryl Henert.
There will be a celebration of life from 1:00 - 4:00 pm, Sunday July 31, 2022 at the VFW, 318
4th Ave, Rochelle, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Unity Hospice of Rochelle, IL.
