Sherri L. Johnson

Sherri Louise (Knoll) Johnson, 62, passed away peacefully at her home in Capron, Illinois on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Born on September 8, 1963 to Fred and Mary Lou Knoll, Sherri was a devoted mother and wife who took great pride in her family. She is survived by her loving husband, John Johnson; her children, Andrea (Jesse) Hernandez, Leaha Johnson, and Jacob (Beverly) Johnson; and her grandchildren, William Johnson, and Lillian and Jackson Hernandez. She is also survived by her sisters, Valerie (Tom) Tessmann, Kimberly (Ted) Balbier, Bonnie Knoll (April Laliberte), and Desiree (Larry) Gampolo.

Sherri spent nearly two decades serving her community as the head cook at Capron Elementary School before retiring, a role in which her kindness and love for children truly shone. In her spare time, she cherished being outdoors; whether exploring the mountains of Colorado, going on an off-road adventure around the farm, relaxing by the pool with family and friends, or gathered around a bonfire, time spent with Sherri was always filled with music, laughter, and lasting memories.

In lieu of a funeral service, a celebration of life is being planned for later this year. The family encourages honoring Sherri by embracing the moments that mattered most to her: time with family and friends, laughter, and making memories that will be held close for years to come.
