Sherry M. Axtell

Sherry Axtell, 82, of Capron passed away in her home Friday May 30, 2025. She was born on June 11, 1942 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Lester and Mable (Knode) Riesing. She married Forrest Axtell on June 5, 1965 in Kieler, Wisconsin. Sherry had many jobs but enjoyed being a homemaker the most. She loved cooking, camping, and spending time with her family. 

Survivors include

Sons: Patrick (Lori) Axtell of Caledonia, Donald (Jessica) Axtell of Rockford 

Daughters: Catherine (Brad) Mayberry of Belvidere, Lisa Ball of Capron, Pamela (Brad) Burton of Loves Park

Grandchildren: Jerod and Jacob Axtell, David Burton, Margaret O'Donnell, Brian, Edward, and Gregory Axtell

Great-grandchildren: Bella Hall, Ava Axtell, and Abel Axtell

Preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Mable Riesing, brother Lester Riesing Jr., husband of 43 years Forrest Axtell, son David Axtell, daughter Tina Axtell, and grandchild Curtis Ball.

Memorial service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Capron United Methodist Church, 250 West North St, Capron, Illinois 61012.
