Terry Lee Hughart

Terry Lee Hughart, 57, of Machesney Park passed away on December 21, 2024 after his battle with cancer. He was born on January 31, 1967 in Mauston, WI and grew up in Belvidere, IL.

Terry dedicated over 30 years of his life to his work as a carpenter, building homes and contributing to the community through his craft. Terry was known for his love of sports and his warm, generous spirit, Terry was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. He cherished time spent with family and friends, often enjoying simple moments of relaxation and connection.

Terry is survived by his wife, Toni Hughart; his children, Delta Hughart and Kyra Hughart; and his siblings, James (Kim) Hughart, Pete (Kim) Hughart, Rhonda (Eugene) Dishon, and Tommy Hughart. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews as well as his cherished friends who will remember him fondly. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Judith Hughart; his fraternal and maternal grandparents; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Terry’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his legacy of kindness and love bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.

Terry’s family would like to thank Neighbor’s Bar and Grill, especially Kelly Evink, Kelly White, and all the staff and volunteers, who created a beautiful benefit in honor of Terry that he was able to be present for. We would also like to thank his many, devoted friends who went out of their way to be present for Terry in his final days and throughout his life. Extreme, heartfelt gratitude is extended to Terry’s brother Tommy for being his main caretaker and we know your presence provided him with great comfort and security. Finally, we would like to thank Northern Illinois Hospice for their care and guidance through this difficult time.
