Thomas Edward Kehoe

Thomas Edward Kehoe of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on June 13, 2024 at the age of 83. Tom was born on December 26, 1940 in Summit, IL to the late Stewart & Marie (Baker) Kehoe.
Tom was the loving husband of Grace (Pedersen) Kehoe for 62 wonderful years. He was the proud dad of Colleen (Herman) Vickers, Maureen (Mark) Cheli, Kelly Engelhardt, and the late Thomas Peder Kehoe. Adoring grandfather of Shannon (Daniel) Wiercinski, Erik Engelhardt, Myles Cheli, Scott Cheli, Mason and Devin Kehoe, and the late Adam Cheli. He was also the doting great-grandfather of Landon, Olivia and Lincoln Wiercinski. And, the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved brothers/ best friends John & Robert Kehoe, as well as many brother-in laws and sister-in-laws.
Tom worked for Peoples Gas in Chicago for 33 years, starting in 1961 and retiring in 1994.
He will  be remembered for the things he enjoyed in life which included, family fishing trips to Tomahawk WI, cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs. The countless hours reading autobiographical books of old Hollywood movie stars, and watching old classic movies, especially those starring “The Duke”. Tom was John Wayne’s biggest fan!  Above all, Tom will truly be remembered for his love of family.
The family would like to give a big thank you to OSF Hospice of Rockford, IL for making Tom comfortable in his final days. A special thank you goes out to Melissa, Lisa, Julie and Dr. Brian Boe for all the support and care throughout this journey.
Interment will be private at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
