Timothy Cole, affectionately known by many names — “Tim” “Dad” “T. Cole,” “Winky,” “Grampa Tim,” “Pop Pop,” and “Papa,”— passed away on August 28, 2025, at the age of 73. A longtime resident of Poplar Grove, Illinois, he was deeply cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Linda Cole; his children, Daryl (Sherry) Carlson, Kelly Melcher, Jodi (Josh) Thomas, and Amy (Mike) Rosenberg; his grandchildren, Courtney, Alyssa, Miles, Dani, Liam, Sam, Revy, and Lucy; and his brother, Tom (Donna) Cole.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mac and Alice Cole; and his sister, Peggy Froiz.
Tim lived life with passion and character. He loved riding his Harley-Davidsons, fishing off his pier — which he always said was “the best” — and curating his impressive knife and gun collection. He also enjoyed collecting old and unique treasures, always appreciating the stories behind “cool stuff.”
Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a loyal friend whose presence brought laughter, and strength to everyone around him.
A Celebration of Life will be from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Rugen Park, 2941 Harrison St, Glenview, IL 60025.
Stay Oldskool and Ride Free, T. Cole
