It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of
Virgil Wayne "Pee Wee" Lawson age 74 who passed away at home after a long illness on November 2nd,2025
Born on April 5th, 1951 to Nancy (Tyler) Lawson and Arvil Lawson.
Wayne was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed sports of any kind and working with his hands.
He deeply loved his family and his fur babies. Wayne lovingly made his "famous potato salad" and made sure to always have enough for everyone to take home many times.
He was a machinist and retired from Textron Taptite in Belvidere.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Tammy (White) Lawson; son, Virgil James Lawson; brothers, Glenn Lawson (Ellen), Greg Lawson (Sheryl), Mike Lawson; sisters, Sheryl Britton (Keith) and Sharon Brown; 2 grandchildren, Kyle and Kaylee Lawson; aunt, Jane Bursell and several nieces and nephews.He is predeceased by his father; Arvil; mother, Nancy and brother, Dave.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all that knew him. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at a later date.
