Wanda E. Adamson

Wanda E. Adamson, 97 of Belvidere, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, peacefully in her home. She was born June 12, 1924, the daughter of Floyd and Josephine (Seaver) Campbell. Wanda married Gilbert Adamson on February 14, 1945 and remained his loving wife until the time of his death in August of 1971. Wanda was a devoted mother to their 3 daughters.  When Wanda's brothers went off to war, she had to drop out of school to help with the family farm. On her 80th birthday in 2004, she received her honorary diploma from Belvidere High School. Wanda was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Order of The Eastern Star. She worked for many years in manufacturing in Rockford, Beloit and Marengo.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Esther Nowack, of Kankakee Illinois, her brother, Frank, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Wanda is predeceased by her parents, husband, Gilbert, daughters, Anna (Kaufman) and Judith (Wolf), her brothers, Garth, Harold and Ronald, her sisters, Elna and Audrey and her sons-in-law, Robert Kaufman and Calvin Nowack.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church located at 1300 Pearl St. Belvidere Il 61008, with the funeral service to follow immediately. 
   
In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, OSF Hospice or the Boone County Keen Age Center.
