Wilfredo B. Legaspi 78, of Belvidere, Il, passed away peacefully at Alden Debes Nursing Home in Rockford Il after a lengthy illness on Tuesday June 29, 2021. Wilfredo was born August 8,1942 in Imas Cavite, Philippines. The son of the late Iluminda and Salvador Legaspi. In the Philippines Wilfredo went to college and studied Criminology and worked with the police department as an investigator for several years. He came to the U.S. in1990 and worked as a security guard in California, then moved to Belvidere Illinois and worked CNA at Fairview Manor Nursing home in Belvidere. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Keen Age center in Belvidere. Willfredo enjoyed fishing, cooking, singing Karaoke, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his children, Freddie (Milade) Legaspi, Sheila (Albert) Songko, Kristine Legaspi (Joselito Imperio), Sharel (Rex) Lebeco. Sisters - Merlinda (Artemin) Pasco, Cristina (Ben) Legaspi, and Ruby Legaspi; Brothers- Juanito (Jocelyn) Legaspi, Hermenegildo (Dawn) Legaspi, Eladio (Ellen) Legaspi, Jessie (Baby) Legaspi, Luis Legaspi, Angeltito Legaspi; Grandkid- Maureen, Christian, and Mark Legaspi, Arron and Abie Songco, Paulino Imperio, Ellie and Saia Lebeco. Also survived by Perla Sevillena , Yolanda Reyes, as well many numerous nieces and nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Angelito and Jessie Legaspi, Sister in-law Virgina Legaspi, Brother in -law Artemio Legaspi.

A Memorial Mass and celebration of his life will be Wednesday July 7th at 10 AM (PST) At Saint Vincent Ferrer Parish, Vallejo, California.
A private celebration of life and memorial service will be held Saturday July 10, 2021 in Poplar Grove, Illinois.
